Has it really been 6 years??

Hey Guys,

We have been listening closely for the last few weeks as you guys have been building up to today.  As we look back, it seems unbelievable that it has been 6 years since we were getting ready to leave for Grin Kids trip 2002.  This trip really started bringing back memories when we heard you talking about the family meeting a few days ago.  I can remember walking into that meeting room at the radio station not sure what to think, and I remember getting to know each one of you and finding out that you all have a heart of gold.

This day also brings back so many memories for us, from the chartered plane ride, to the police escort to the most amazing place that we have ever been in our lives.  We look forward to October each and every year because we get to relive our trip through families that have no idea what they are getting ready to experience.  Even though the plane has yet to leave the ground, we know one thing for sure and that is that you (the Ace & Tj Show) and the many listeners that have made this trip possible are getting ready to change a lot of peoples lives forever.

One thing that we would like to share with anyone that may read or hear this letter, is that there is no way that anyone that goes on this trip can ever put into words what it will mean to their families.  Let us try since we have had 6 years to think about what it meant and still means to us.  If we were to put the experience into one sentence, it would be:  This trip is a once in a lifetime chance for a "special needs" family to feel normal.

Most people that hear this statement will most likely not be able to understand, but every family that is waiting for that plane this morning will understand when they get back from the most amazing trip that they will likely ever take.  You and your listeners make it possible for a family that can barely come up with the money and the energy to make it to a Sunday afternoon movie, to experience a life-changing vacation where they can (for just a few days) forget the hardships that they deal with every single day.

Christian was 8 years old when we went on the 2002 trip and now he is 14, but just like us, he remembers the trip just like it was yesterday.  We want to say to all the listeners that make this trip possible, Thank You.  Thank you seems so "cheap" after all you have given to us, but know that it comes from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for what you did for us and what you continue to do for the many families that will be going on this trip and the many more to come.

Know that our thoughts are with each and every one of you and the 2008 families.  We look forward to reliving our trip once again through the 2008 families, and even though they have no idea what they are getting ready to experience, we do.  That being said, we hope that each and every one of them have the time of their lives.  We wish you all God's speed, and a safe return.

God bless you all,

The Loss Family,
Mike, Tracey, and Christian
