Thoughts

As a person who tends to be a little "wordy," I'm going to try to convey my thanks and appreciation as quickly as I can. For family and friends who were bcc'd on this email, I hope you understand why I included you.

Grin Kids organization is the charity founded by Ace & TJ of the Ace & TJ morning show, broadcasted out of Charlotte, NC and played locally in Birmingham on 103.7 the Q. I've been a "listener" since they first came on here (2003?) and a RADIO FAMILY MEMBER since October 2008 (the same month Brandon Koch passed away). My love for the show grew out of having to pass his accident site every day and needing something to brighten the mood. From the background of my radio arose the Ace & TJ show, a vibrant cast. Ace, TJ, Yankee Pete, Guenn, Breeze and Shadow (not necessarily a pecking order) helped to fill my short morning commute with laughter as opposed the sadness that enveloped me.

Fast forward to now...since the creation of our own organization (Children in Heaven), I have become even more appreciative of what Grin Kids does for children. Every October, they charter a plane of kids and their families and embark on a once-in-a-lifetime dream vacation to Disney World. Each of the Grin Kids are unique and special in their own right, but are also suffering from a terminal illness or chronic disability. What Grin Kids gives these children is remarkable and it has to be one of my favorite times of the year as a Radio Family Member. I have yet to listen in the past 3 years or so that Ace or TJ (or both) did not cry. They are impacted by the events and the strength of these children as am I (as well as the cast of the show and organizers of the event).

Okay, so it goes without saying that I will support Grin Kids as much as I can. I've donated on the play anything day, I WENT TO PROM, and I made a small contribution last week by purchasing 2 raffle tickets for a TV donated by Best Buy. And guess what?! I WON THAT TV!!! So now when people ask me why I LOVE THE ACE AND TJ SHOW, I can tell them about Grin Kids and how in trying to do something for Grin Kids, they've done something for me (or really my husband, but that's okay - he's a great one!!!).

So I'm not emailing to brag; I'm emailing you to tell you again about Grin Kids, my love for the Ace and TJ show and why I have that love...and to thank everyone involved for what you do!!! Thanks for the TV...the Auburn and LSU Tigers will have never looked better. WAR EAGLE, GEAUX TIGERS AND roll tide too, I guess. GO SEC!!!!!!!!!!
