Thoughts

Thank you so much !!!!

I have been thinking alot about the trip and all the wonderful new friends that we made over those 5 days, it was so sad to see it end. Mason keeps talking about when we go back! HAHA! Not anytime soon. During on radio time you asked me the question--what was the most defining moment of the trip of far for us, of course there where several Zach saying Nemo and Mommy. Seeing Mason's face when he saw something new and of course the permanent smiles on their faces that seemed to be there the whole time we were at Disney it truly is a very magical place.

After saying all this I finally figured out what the most defining thing of the whole trip for me was. It was the fact that for 5 days you and everyone else with Grin Kids, gave my family and all the other families that were on the trip the feeling of just being NORMAL!! For 5 days we were normal, no therapy appts, no doctors, no school and no work. For 5 days it didn't matter that my children where different, it didn't matter that Mason's legs are more bowed than straight or that he is as tall as most 3yr olds. It didn't matter that Zach spent 95% of his time attached to a dog (a wonderful one, but still a dog) or that he doesn't talk or that if the mood strikes he will just lay down on the ground no matter where he may be. It didn't matter that most of the kids with our group where either in wheelchairs or had splints on their legs, because for 5 days we were with people who understood and didn't care. You can't possibly realize how much that means! So from the very bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!  I don't think any of you...Ace, TJ, Guenn, Pete, Breeze, Barb, Diana, Deidre and everyone else with Grin Kids realize just how special you all are and what a difference you make. You will all have a very special place in my heart.

Thank you so much!!!!!

One very happy Grin Kid parent,

Holly Coffey
